Joan Winter, of Califon/Long Valley NJ has been painting for over 30 years. She has had one-person exhibits at:

Bouras Gallery in Summit NJ
Ward-Nasse in NYC
Johnson & Johnson New-Jersey-Artist-Series in New Brunswick
Mt Kemble Gallery in Morristown
She was a guest artist at Metuchen Artworks Gallery

She has an MA in painting from New York University and worked toward an MFA in painting and graphics at Pratt Graduate School.

She also studied in NYC at the Art Students League and at the New York Academy of Figurative Art.
And she is an active board member of Warren County Arts and Art Association in Roxbury.

Her strongest influences are the expressionist and symbolist painters. Her artistic development reflects both academic and self-training. She paints from life, direct-observation, fantasy, and photographs using oil, watercolor, acrylic or gouache. Her paintings are symbolic impressions of her subjects. Her favorite subjects are people and flowers.
