I am a painter, architect and photographer with academic degrees in Architecture from Warsaw University of Technology and in Painting from the renowned Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. I live and work in Melbourne, Australia.
My fascination with color characterizes all my works. I use vivid hues and fill my artwork with light. My aim is for my artwork to radiate with happiness, bring to the viewer positive emotions and encourage optimistic view of the world. My passion for intense colors results from my inspiration by Monet, Picot or Hockney and by places which are full of sunshine, colorful houses and fairy-tale lush vegetation. Most of my paintings are a result of plein air work in Australia, South Pacific, Carribean and Mediterranean.
The images included here depict 'Essaouira' and 'Zinnias 2' from the Zinnias series. The latter artwork is currently on display at the Ward-Nasse Gallery.
Zinnias 2 won the Special Recognition Award in the 'Botanicals' Juried Art Competition of the Space and Time Gallery in September 2012. Zinnias 1 won 3rd prize in the 'Floral - Non Realistic' category in the American Art Awards 2012 and the Cover Competition of the Art & Beyond Magazine, Summer 2012 Issue. Both paintings were also exhibited at Zofia's solo exhibition 'Floral Abstracts' in the Akwarium Gallery, Gdynia, Poland in October 2012.
