Pamela Deitrich

Drawing and painting create the words for the language of my personal expression. My abstract paintings explore the intricacies of emotion and connection through a combination of water and oil-based paints with layers of crayon. Through the richness of color, I give voice to my creativity, while drawing on my experience in textiles and fabric as I weave line and color together.

In my drawings, I pull from my background in illustration, calligraphy and typography. Ink and crayon give me the freedom and variety of line that I find so evocative in my explorations. My focus is to observe the essence of my subjects and to communicate those natures in my depictions.
