Ward-Nasse Gallery will host the unique art of oil painter Ritch Gaiti. His first New York show, Returning to the Spirits... paintings of another time, another place, is a compilation of paintings celebrating a unique people and unique time in the American west. The Native American people, the cowboys, the horses and the buffalo are memorialized in a journey that begins with the ancient ones, the petroglyphs, and continues through the coming of changing times. Executed in a wide range of media including oil, acrylic, sand and resins,on canvas, board and burlap, many of the textures resonate with ancient traditions.

"The rich culture and history of this land haunts and provokes me. Reliving the journey on canvas has been my passion. I dedicate this series to a simpler, more serene, life."

Ritch Gaiti, an emerging self-taught artist, has been painting for over fifteen years. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Ritch became visually attracted to the West and Native American subject by the warm colors and the spiritual nature of the people and the land. He is currently exhibiting his works in several galleries across the country. His work may be viewed on his website:
