The Japan Contemporay Art Association(JCAA) was established in February 1984. The purpose of the association is to promote the work of contemporary artists in Japan and abroad to encourage interaction between contemporary artists from different nationalities. It seeks to promote cultural exchange and international understanding through paintings, photographs, and sculptures etc. JCAA has organised many axhibitions in Tokyo and Paris. It has also exhibited in New York, Venice, London and Barcelona... and it celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2003.

The international contemporary art exchange exhibition called ARTEX shows in New York. The 19th ARTEX NEW YORK 2003 will show 31 Japanese artists and 14 artists from other countries.

Please join us at the opening reception and meet the artists on Tuesday, December 30th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Ward-Nasse Gallery at: 178 Prince Street. Gallery hours are: Tue-Sat 11 p.m. - 6 p.m., Sun. 1 p.m. - 6p.m.
